Gold is the basic resource that is used often in this game. You use Gold to hire Troops, upgrade items in the Armory, and scan clouded areas. You also use gold to start a Submarine mission or raid.
There are multiple ways to gain Gold. The Residence building will generate a certain amount of gold over time. Like other resource buildings, the Residence can be upgraded to increase the rate of production and how much it can store before stopping.
You can also earn Gold by recovering a village from the Blackguard's evil enslavement bases. There is a reward when first freeing the village, and while the village is free it will build up in a resource boat that will be sent every thirty minutes.

All My Training Has Led Me Here
I had this base on my map for several weeks. It was too tough for me to beat, but had great loot, so I had to save it. As I progressed further in the game, I became stronger and closer and closer to being ready to take him on. Unfortunately, he also improved gaining many new and high level defenses as well as a shock launcher, but recently, I caught up enough to destroy him. I analyzed the base and saw the base's only weakness, and decided the best strategy to use would be Rifle-Medic. I tried and beat him on my first try, but I made mistakes and the battle came very close to being a loss. [Picture 1]
In the end however, I did conquer him and came away with this great loot.[Picture 2]

This is just a little about myself and how I raid the shores. I will update this periodically as needed:
- *** I currently play Boom Beach on an iPhone 5c.
As of right now I am working full time and do a lot of other activities when I am not working so I look at myself as a defensive player. I spend a lot of time collecting resources via attacking when needed, however most of my game as of lately is solely developing my beach and advancing my defenses. I plan ahead deciding what buildings I will need and what I need to prioritize for upgrades so when I am at work or not able to check my beach frequently I know I will at least be in a good spot when I do return.

Hardest to Obtain Resource
Hey guys!
As we all know, Boom Beach has a much more diverse economic system. So today I'd like to know what you guys think are the hardest resource to obtain, including gem fragments, shards, etc. Tell me in the comments at the bottom!
Personally, I think the hardest resources to obain are dark crystals. This is because you have to attack Dr. Terror's bases, which gets harder and harder.

New ideas for boom beach
I think boom beach should have a social thing like a landing craft you can recieve troops from other people in your alliance, and you should be able to upgrade it to hold more troops.
Boom Beach world release in March
SC said that Boom Beach will be released worldwide in March, I think that will make current players rank lower because there are probably a lot of people worldwide who are going to spend real money on it. Like in CoC if you don't spend real monry it is unlikely you will get to champion or master league.
