Summary
- Cpt. Ruddero is a Hero that supports troops with his abilities.
- To unlock him, the player needs to reach Headquarters level 24, then continue attacking NPC Blackguard and player bases to discover clues, which in turn is heralded by a cooldown timer once each is found, usually extending the search period to 10 days or beyond. Once all clues have been found, Hammerman's level 60 HQ, and he becomes available after its destruction.
- As a Hero, he does not require time to train. If he is defeated in battle, he will be fully healed and ready to fight again.
- In battle, he is a medium-ranged attacker with average hitpoints and low damage per second.
- His Hero Perk is Wingman, which summons the namesake drones to draw enemy fire every few seconds, with a limit of 6 at any given moment.
- Cpt. Ruddero is one of 3 aerial units alongside Rocket Choppa and Heavy Choppa.
- As an aerial unit, he exhibits the following properties:
- He does not interact with Traps, and cannot be targeted by certain Defenses/Prototype Defenses.
- He can bypass unplayable zones in Warships, the Mega Crab and Mega Turtle by simply flying over them.
- He cannot be stunned by Shock Bombs, but all other Gunboat Weaponry that affect troops, such as Artillery and Medkit, will interact with him normally.
Hero Abilities
Similar to Gunboat Weaponry, Hero Abilities can be used during battle at the cost of Gunboat energy. Your hero can only have one ability active in a battle. Offensive Strategy
- Cpt. Ruddero is a purely supportive Hero, akin to Sgt. Brick, with the Bombing Run ability carrying most of his damage potential. As such, he operates best with cover from Heavy Choppas in Warships when possible, or with other durable units in the home base.
- His Wingmen can occasionally dismiss attacks from enemy point defenses, such as Boom Cannons, which does help to compensate for his fragility, but should not be relied upon.

Trivia
- Cpt. Ruddero was first introduced in Warships Season 64, 66 and 68, before being made available in the Home Base after Season 72.
- Cpt. Ruddero's properties and artwork are derived from Jetpack, a unit in the now-defunct Space Ape spinoff, Boom Beach: Frontlines. His name, however, appeared as a message in a bottle as early as 2017.
- Interestingly, Cpt. Ruddero has received a slight overhaul for his icon and model. The insignia on his helmet has been simplified, with the Artillery shell being rotated and losing its wings.
- Before Cpt. Ruddero was added to the main base, he recycled Jetpack's artwork from Boom Beach: Frontlines.
- Cpt. Ruddero is the only hero who has 2 Abilities unlocked at level 1.
