Summary
- The Cryo Bomb is a Unique Building that appears exclusively during the Mega Crab or Mega Turtle event.
- On health depletion, the Cryo Bomb explodes after 2 seconds, dealing 260 damage in a radius of 8 tiles and sets off all mines within range. All troops/buildings caught in the area of effect receive a 75% penalty to their attack and movement speed, which lasts for 20 seconds, or until they are afflicted by a burn DOT from a Scorcher/Incinerator/MegaScorcher/Hot Pot/Flamethrower.
Strategy
- Cryo Bombs can create a large window of opportunity for an assault, as it applies a large but temporary reduction of DPS to nearby defenses, and will also clear all mines, allowing players to conserve Gunboat Energy elsewhere. It is generally advisable to activate them beyond their range with Artillery/Barrage, although units with piercing or overshooting attacks, such as Laser Rangers and Grenadiers, can occasionally do so as well.
- It would be advisable to destroy Cryo Bombs near many Boom Cannons, Doom Cannons or Shock Launchers, as these slow-firing defenses suffer greatly from the frost effect.
- Using the likes of Scorchers may be counterproductive unless the frozen defenses can be neutralized quickly.
Appearance
- The Cryo Bomb is a black, spherical container made of two nested parts, each with four black and blue extensions on each part.
- It is surrounded by stalagmites, and a four-handled metal crank is attached to the top of the building.
