Special Headquarters

These Headquarters are owned by certain characters. They have the same mechanics and health as a regular Headquarters.

Level 1-27 Level 1-27 Level 1-27

Summary

  • If the Headquarters is destroyed, the attacker wins the battle, the Victory Points, and all of the resources that were at risk.
  • The Headquarters' own level determines the maximum level for various other buildings.
  • Destroying buildings on a base causes the Headquarters to take damage.

  • At level 13, the Headquarters gains the ability to save, rename, edit and load base layouts. This starts at two, with one more unlocking at levels 14, 16, 18 and 20 for a maximum of six layouts.

Headquarters Damage

  • The Headquarters will take damage equivalent to a percentage of its health for every other Building destroyed. All of this adds up to 70%, and is evenly divided among all buildings. If a base has many buildings, then each building will do less damage and vice versa. The same principle applies to Outposts on Resource Bases, Power Cores in Operations and Mega Cores in Mega Crab/Mega Turtle events, but not Engine Rooms in Warships.
    • This value is capped at 20% for each building. If there are three additional buildings other than the HQ, it will retain 40% of its health instead of 30%.
  • Indirect damage can destroy the HQ, provided if sufficient direct damage has been inflicted to it. It will not damage a Shield Generator's force field, instead affecting the HQ itself.

Upgrade Differences

  • When starting your game, the Headquarters appears as a square structure with stone walls, a wooden roof, a small blue flag at the front corner, sandbags lying on the ground and a tripod on the roof.
  • At level 2, the Headquarters gains more sandbags on the ground and on the roof and crates against the wall. A small part of the roof has blue boards.
  • At level 3, the Headquarters gains some sandbags on its roof and its sides.
  • At level 4, more blue boards and sandbags are added to the roof.
  • At level 5, the antenna gains a top, and the front entrance gains a white outline and a wooden door.
  • At level 6, the roof changes entirely, becoming blue entirely except for the center. It gains a pole on top, and the three crates are replaced by one, larger crate.
  • At level 7, the Headquarters gains a blue corrugated metal roof, a hatch on the roof and 3 poles at the back.
  • At level 11, the Headquarters gains reinforced blue steel plating as a roof and a satellite dish on the top. The crate on the side of the Headquarters is now made of olive-colored metal.
  • At level 17, the Headquarters' satellite dish turns dark grey and becomes bigger, and it gains a signal pole. A lock appears at the front door, and hazard tape is on its bottom. The crate is replaced by 3 orange tubes. A second, smaller floor is added, as evidenced by the windows. The windows on the side are removed.
  • At level 21, the Headquarters becomes taller, gains a new front structure with a second satellite dish, gains new red vents on both sides, and the three orange tubes as well as the sandbags are removed.
  • At level 22, the Headquarters' satellite dish turns from being spherical to parabolic. Hazard tape can be found near the edges of the satellite dish. The door turns red, and the front of the HQ is reinforced further.
  • At level 23, the Headquarters gains some sandbags around the HQ. Its door is reinforced with a vault like lock. The satellite disk turns back into a round disk, with its shape sort of like a level 6-8 radar, but with a red body. What can be assumed to be generators or pipes are sheltered by a steel protrusion to the side of the building.
  • At level 24, the Headquarters gains a second radar on top of its left ceiling. The lock gains outer red balls on the handles. The sandbags are replaced with concrete barriers. The antennas are unified into a single pole with a red receiver. The ceiling on top of the door now has a red plate covering it. The power generator on the side becomes more advanced with a blue cover and four metal plates. Some edges and sides become gray.
  • At level 25, the Headquarters' base has been reinforced with Dragon's Teeth in lieu of concrete barriers. Most blue portions of the building gained darker accents, with the vault door now having a circular handle instead, topped by an unknown tiny apparatus. The two smaller radars dishes are consolidated into one with two antennae, and the chimney has been upgraded with a robust ventilation network, complete with a red-trimmed grated exit and two additional pipes.
  • At level 26, the Headquarters' Dragon Teeth are replaced with blue columns caressed by a layer of steel and linked to each other with bolted beams. Many yellow trims on the structure are now steel colored. The radar has been overhauled, now consisting of three individual dishes with a fourth red antennae in the middle, and likewise the roof supporting them now vaguely resembles a droplet, layered by multiple shades of blue and tipped with an unknown steel object supporting a security camera. The side vents are completely removed, and a third pipe has been added to the chimney. The access gate has a much more simplistic swinging door and handle, placed above some hazard tape and surrounded by dark blue trims. The same goes for whatever's on the sides, which have been streamlined significantly, replacing the pipes with vents atop more hazard tape. All the fireports are now visibly bigger.
  • At level 27, the Headquarters adopts a lighter tone. Its radar dishes merge again into a massive, curved entity, and the same can be said for the vents, which are all uniformly circular with steel grates. The chimney is now supported exclusively by thick pipes that run across the front, with two more vents on various locations. Likewise, the side vents are now properly marked with hazard tape lining around them. The cylinders have been switched out for their rectangular counterparts and retain their blue lights at the front instead. The security cameras are repainted from red to steel, and two instead of one are positioned at the frontal corners. The fireports below them have simply merged to overlook the corners, and a faint blue glow emanates directly from them. Although protruding elements on the roof are mostly absent, a steel-colored exception remains directly above the access. The gate has been completely redesigned, now resembling a cylinder with a yellow-outlined aperture and a blue light in the middle, with its mobile elements split into two independent halves that contain a number of bolts. The frames are now smoothly curving to the ground, again reverting to their original concrete color, being connected at the bottom by hazard tape.
  • Headquarters that are owned by Lt. HammermanDr. T or Colonel Gearheart do not undergo any visual changes at all.
    • Hammerman's HQ is a red and gray structure with a red door, four rooms as corners, and a second floor with an antenna.
    • Dr. T's HQ has a similar design to the level 11 HQ, but the windows and crates are replaced with two green pipes. Instead of a satellite, a rotating porthole-like structure is located on top. The color scheme is gray and purple.
    • Colonel Gearheart's HQ has the door, satellite, and roof of the level 17 HQ. To its right, a conveyor belt leads to another room that has a gray machine on top. Its color scheme is red and gray.

Trivia

  • There are special requirements, apart from XP level alone, required to upgrade your HQ up to level 8:
    • To upgrade your HQ to level 4, you need to build the Radar.
    • Similarly, the Radar must be upgraded to level 2 in order to upgrade the HQ to level 5.
    • To upgrade your HQ to level 6, you must have at least one troop upgraded to level 2.
    • To upgrade your HQ to level 7, you must have at least one Landing Craft upgraded to level 4.
    • To upgrade your HQ to level 8, you need to build the Sculptor.
  • A player's Headquarters can have up to 8,820,000 health, barring any boosts from Tribes. To reach this number, the player would require a level 27 Headquarters, 4 Mark III Shield Generators, the best Building Health Masterpiece (32%), and 11 of the best Building Health Guardians (13%), all boosted.
    • With the HQ Lifepoint Tribe Boost (150%), the HQ can have up to 11,760,000 health.
  • When the player attacks either by landing troops or using Gunboat Weaponry, all of the Blackguard villagers will rush into the HQ to hide.
  • If you destroy the HQ right after a Mortar (or any other defense in general) fires, your troops can still be damaged or destroyed by the lingering projectile. This has no effect on the outcome of the battle, such as losing your last troops to said projectile will still result in a victory rather than a defeat.
  • If you watch a replay of an attack on one of Lt. Hammerman's bases, the Headquarters will appear as a normal Blackguard one.
  • There's an achievement which is called Chain of Command that gives a total of 60 diamonds upon upgrading the Headquarters to level 20.
