Summary
- The Minesweeper is a Squad Leader Variant from the Heavy.
- When the Minesweeper is equipped, all associated Heavies prioritize activating enemy Mines and take 75% less damage from them. While doing so, they will also ignore Flares.
Visual Appearance
- The Minesweeper appears as a big, muscular man wearing a large helmet with antenna-like details and protective earmuffs. He sports blue goggles over his eyes. His upper body is bare except for a massive, metallic shield-like contraption strapped to his chest, resembling armor. He carries a large, futuristic cannon-like weapon with glowing blue rings and pipes, suggesting advanced technology. His right shoulder is protected by a golden armor plate, while his lower half features simple shorts and sandals.
Offensive Strategy
- The Minesweeper is an extremely effective counter against all sorts of Mines, which are otherwise deadly to groups of frail units usually used alongside them, such as Riflemen, Laser Rangers and Zookas. To some extent, even Boom Mines can be dismissed with little to no risk.
Defensive Strategy
- The Minesweeper's target priority can also be utilized against him and his squad if Mines are placed near defenses they're vulnerable to.
- Shock Mines, Shock Blasters and Shock Launchers can stun them, causing other units to walk into the line of fire.
- Being specialized against Mines, Minesweepers are equally vulnerable against strong point defenses (Boom Cannons, Cannons, etc) when compared to Heavies.
Trivia
- Like most Squad Leaders, the Minesweeper wears a golden armor plate on his right shoulder.
- The Minesweeper is the only Heavy Squad Leader who didn't receive a range increase.
- The Minesweeper was "teased" as an April Fool's joke in 2014 on their official Facebook page in the form of a Hay Day chicken.
