Summary

Obtaining Modules

  • Most sources of Prototype Modules are only accessible after the Weapon Lab's construction. The only exception to this is the War Factory event. However, any obtained modules before will be stored normally, you just cannot examine these until you have the appropriate building constructed.
  • After destroying any one of these base types, there is an 8% chance that it will reward you with a Prototype Module:
  • There are other ways to get Prototype Modules as well.
    • Prototype Modules can also be won by winning the Hammerman Strikes Back event (which requires you to build the Weapon Lab).
    • Achieving Reward Thresholds in the Colonel Gearheart event may also reward you with Prototype Modules.
    • You may also be rewarded with a Prototype Module for defeating Mega Crab stages.
    • The Trader may have modules for trade, and Trader Crates can also contain them.
    • There is also a chance of getting Prototype Modules from Warship Chests.
    • Finally, mystery slots in a Submarine dive reward can also contain Prototype Modules.
  • The chance to receive a module from an attack is fairly low (8%), but Prototype Defenses can last for up to 9 days.
  • Unlike Statues, which give something when reclaimed, Prototype Defenses do not give anything when destroyed.

Using Modules

  • Each Prototype Defense requires a certain quantity of Prototype Modules to build.
  • The Weapon Lab is used to select which Prototype Defense that you would like to build.
  • Building a Prototype Defense will consume Prototype Modules.
    • Cancelling the construction of a Prototype Defense will refund all Modules.
  • Like Power Stones, any Prototype Modules that you own cannot be lost to attackers. Anything the enemy obtains from the base are generated as their loot bonus.

Modules

There are four different prototype modules:

Critical Fuse Complex Gear Power Rod Field Capacitor
Critical Fuse Complex Gear Power Rod Field Capacitor
"Prevents critical meltdowns" "The complexity of this gear is far beyond our scientists' understanding." "Who'd have guessed that you can store power in a rod?" "Often confused with Flux Capacitor"

Trivia

  • Although the Critical Fuse "prevents critical meltdowns", it does not prevent Prototype Defenses from expiring.
  • The description for the Field Capacitor is a reference to Back to the Future..
